O u r S t o r y

The year 1946 is remarkable for a record harvest in the village of Brestovitsa, exceeding 27,000,000 kg of grapes. Thousands of wagons set off across Europe, loaded with first-class grapes and wine, spreading the fame and richness of this Bulgarian winegrowing region.

Later, it was deservedly called “Little America” because of the diligence, entrepreneurship, and prosperity of the local people.

1940

The Beginning of the Family Tradition

The story of Dzhinvira Winery begins around 1940, when the Dzhingarovi family started cultivating vineyards in the fertile lands around Brestovitsa – a region with deep traditions in winemaking.

Preserving the Tradition

During a time of major changes in Bulgarian agriculture, the family’s vineyards were preserved, and the love for wine and viticulture continued to be passed down from generation to generation.

Vineyard Development

Over the years, the family gradually expanded their vineyards, caring for them with dedication and respect for the land and the local winemaking traditions.

The Early 2000s

The Idea of a Family Winery

The new generation of the family begins developing the idea of their own family winery, restoring the old cellar and laying the foundations for modern wine production.

Today

A Tradition That Continues

Today, Dzhinvira’s wines are crafted from their own grapes and from carefully selected vineyards in the Brestovitsa region, combining traditional practices, hand harvesting, and respect for the terroir.

Thracian Heritage

L a n d o f t h e A n c i e n t W i n e m a k e r s

Centuries before Christ, the Bulgarian lands were inhabited by the Thracians, who were among the first to tame the horse, cultivate the vine, and create one of the earliest wines.

Homer wrote about the wine of the Thracians, which was delivered by the ships of the Achaeans along the Maritsa River to the walls of Troy. Considering the hundreds of archaeological finds and treasures discovered in our region, many of which depict vine-growing scenes and motifs, we may conclude that part of this wine set out from here.
